300C News

Why Chrysler Is Smiling Again - Nice article in Business 2.0 about the 300C.

Chief Executive Magazine Lists 300C in "The Top 10 Cars for CEOs. The 300C is topped only in this list by the Audi A8 L and Cadillac STS.

Aargh! I finally have a scratch! Note to self: Do not carry large metal objects over the front driver quarter panel walking backwards while an Old English Sheep Dog stands behind. Actually, getting away with just a small scratch after that was pretty lucky.

Chrysler 300C in the News

High Tech Winter Driving
"For most drivers, especially those who don't live in places with very heavy snowfall, traction control and stability control should be sufficient to handle normal winter driving, said Joe Grace, Chrysler's program manager for the Chrysler 300C and Dodge Magnum. 300C Double Takes

I've been reading in some of the automotive forums about 300C owners and their experiences with others' reactions to the car. Most often I've read pretty positive things, like thumbs up, smiles, stares, etc. This past weekend there must have been 5 or 6 people that did a sort of double take.

One 50ish couple walked by as I was ready to leave a parking spot, staring as they went by. Then the woman stopped, turned around and walked back and just stared for a minute as I drove off. Every time I stop by a local grocer, one of the young guys that works there always asks, "How's that 300C? I sure love that car."

I guess what's interesting to me is the range of people that respond to the car. It's not just people in their 20's and the street rod thing, or the older luxury car crowd.

This is all good amusement but it really doesn't matter to me. I like the look and ride of this car now as much or more than when I first test drove it.

1000 Miles in a 300C

I'm up to a little over 1000 miles in my 2005 Chrysler 300C so far. I would probably be at 300 - 400 in another car by now. This car is still so fun to drive. Where I live the speed limit rarely gets over 40 so the car pretty much floats from place to place. It's only when I go into the city that I get a chance to try out the Hemi.

If anyone has had a E&G stainless grille for the 300C installed, please let me know. I am curious what they are like as I've only seen them online so far.

Thanks to those who have posted comments so far. I've found a number of forums with some great information. Reviews are fine, but a journalist can only assess a car for a short period of time. It's much more insightful to hear what other owners have to say.

I finally received my plates today. 3 weeks! The dealership has had them since the 15th and forgot to send. Hmmm.

Also, if anyone has experience with the Sirius satellite radio, please let me know as that's one accessory I do not have.
