300C Misses Stoplight

Would you believe a friend of mine out west was out for a ride in his 300C and accidentally ran a red light while adjusting himself and was photographed by an automated police camera. Which he didn't know was there at the time. In the mail a few days later, he received a photo of his Chrysler 300C committing the infraction and a citation for $60. Instead of paying the fine, he thought he would be cute and mailed the police department a photograph of three 20-dollar bills. Several days later, he gets a letter back from the police department. Inside is a photograph of a pair of handcuffs. Believe it or Not.

Keeping Your 300C for the Long Haul

Owning a automobile has always been much more than just having a reliable car that gets us places, we place a lot of focus and energy in making sure we have a stylish car like a Chrysler 300C that will impress our friends, family members, and are downright sexy. Cars tend to depreciate very fast right away and then hold their value for the most part after that. During the first three years of ownership, a typical car will lose 50% of its value. However there are exceptions to this rule of thumb. For instance a two year old diesel Chrysler 300C with 30,000 miles on the clock is today worth an impressive 67 per cent of it's cost when new in the United Kingdom. Most cars however tend to depreciate very fast right away and then hold their value for the most part after that. During the first three years of ownership, a typical car will lose 50% of its value. If buying the right car and keeping it for 15 years could save you tens of thousands of dollars. When you keep a vehicle for a long period of time, you’re going to see depreciation, but it won’t be nearly the rate if you were to keep buying newer cars, trading them in, and then letting them depreciate, also by buying the 'right' car in the first place you should be happier with it for a longer period of time. What if rumors are true and in a year or so they quite making a 300C ?
For practical folks, Consumer Reports actually did a study on how much you can save by keeping a vehicle for a long period of time and they found that owners who buy a new car and keep it for 15 years or 225,000 miles of driving will save you on average $31,000 versus trading your vehicle in every few years. There are a number of other benefits to keeping a car for a long period of time. You don’t have to worry about the hassle of buying a newer car and making sure that you’re getting a good deal and not buying a lemon. You don’t have to worry about trying to sell your older car, and you know the exact vehicle history of the car that you’re driving.
Buying a car like a 300C and keeping it for a decade and a half just makes sense financially.

Chrysler 300C out of This World Export !

Now this is one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen. I knew the 300C has been a popular export but I had no idea how popular. NASA'S Mars Exploration Rover Spirit captured this westward view from atop a low plateau where Sprit spent the closing months of 2007. Several bloggers and other enthusiasts have pointed to a tiny structure (red circle) on the Martian surface as a human figure something else and thus evidence of life on Mars. On closer examination of the photo one can see it is actually a photo of a Martian getting into a Chrysler 300C. Truly a testament to the popularly of the Chrysler 300C. 300C Auto Show Best of Class Winner

Stanley Bing- Fortune Magazine last year wrote a article about how the quality of life, sense of well-being, wealth and economic status expressed as 'Luxury for Middle Managers.' The author gives examples of how people of modest means can live more luxuriously. The author suggests a good bottle of cabernet is worth the extra money, Russian vodka is expensive but justifies its cost, and that a Chrysler 300C automobile is quick, powerful, and costs only a little more than less-capable vehicles. My choice also for a good looking sexy automobile .
I don't don't know if this gentleman is a 'middle-manager' but he is definitely enjoying the the quality of life, sense of well-being, wealth and economic status expressed as 'Luxury for Middle Managers here as a winner of Best of Class at San Antonio Autorama more photos

Last Chance Chrysler 300C on Autobahn

I would love to get this baby ashakin'and out for a spin on the Autobahn. Although not it's not in Germany this tricked out Chrysler 300C would fullfill the enthusiasts thought in the back of their mind, a secret desire to drive, at least once in their lives, on the German Autobahn. Can you really get the full effect of a new Chrysler 300C SRT8 without getting it up to at least 150mph.
But NO!! a report in Car Magazine ,says there is a political movement in Germany that wants to put an end to speed limit free motoring, to slow down to save the world
The heart of this issue of political attack on the basis of what a person drives is pretty dumb. The German Autobahn will remain without a speed limit as long as “environmentally minded” politicians fear they won’t get re-elected for supporting a ban.

2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in Your Garage ?

"It's On" as they say in the ads for the new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 some 38 years after its debut as a 1970 model. This is to be the forth and final use of the LX-platform used in the 300C, Magnum and Charger. The prices announced the end of November, priced at $37,995 and dealers started taking orders in December ahead of spring deliveries; the first retail chassis fetched $400,000 on Jan. 19 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona. Dodge plans to reveal the car Feb. 6 during the Chicago auto show.
power comes from the same 6.1-liter Hemi V8 found across the SRT range. That means 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque shuttled through Chrysler's familiar six-speed automatic transmission. The Challenger should run from 0 to 60 mph in the low five-second range, and likely somewhere in the 13-second bracket during quarter-mile burns.

Chrysler 300C SRT8 That Runs on Vaseline

A guy driving through the countryside comes upon a weird sign advertising a red 2007 Chrysler 300C SRT8 that runs on Vaseline. The farmer who owns it tells him to take it for a test drive, "but don't go too far 'cause it's low on Vaseline." Off the guy goes, and it roars up to 140 mph and runs perfectly. But a short time later, it sputters and fails.
Meanwhile, at a nearby farmhouse, a family is just finishing dinner. The wife is proud of the meal she's prepared and suggests that she should not have to do the dishes. The older of two daughters says she has a date and cannot do the dishes. The younger daughter says she can't do them because she has homework. The father says he is the man of the house and should not have to do dishes. He suggests a solution. "Let's all go into the living room and sit down, and the first person who says a word has to do the dishes."

Meanwhile, the driver makes his way to the farmhouse, knocks, and gets no reply. He sees the family sitting stone-faced in the living room and knocks again. No response. So he walks in and says, "I knocked, but no one answered. What's the deal?" Not a word from the family. The man notices leftovers on the table and asks if he might eat them. Not a word, so the man eats his fill. "May I have a beer?" he asks, and again gets no response, so he helps himself to a half-dozen of them.
Maybe it's his imagination, but he notices the older daughter giving him the eye. "I'd like to make love to your daughter," he says to the farmer. Taking the lack of response as a yes, they go off together. On his return, he has a few more beers. "How about the other daughter?" he asks, and off they go. Soon he's proposing the same for the farmer's wife, and getting no response, he has his way again.

It's getting dark, and the man realizes he must get going. He returns once more to the living room and asks the family if they have any Vaseline.
"All right, all right," says the farmer, "I'll do the damn dishes."

Old School Chrysler 300s

As cool as these old school Chrysler 300s are finding one is pretty tough. I think there were only about 1700 or so of these built. Someone spent a lot of time and effort to make this Chrysler 300 beautiful again. You may have to get your satisfaction with one of these ether building one yourself or having someone do it for you.A old commerical asked is it Memorex or not. It had Ella Fitzgerald singing a high C note which broke a glass, the gag was which did it Ella or the Memorex tape. recording, I Like that, if it wasn't for the blue background you could hardly tell that one of these was a model of a Chrysler 300 instead of being the real thing, great work on both of them.

Stretched Chrysler 300 limo

What is it about stretched Chrysler 300 limos that are just so cool. Well actually it is quite understandable especially if the have lambo doors like these two. I think Stephen Colbert should be chauffeured around New York in a Chrysler300 limo. Then he wouldn't be driving his car there and as a man of his stature deserves the very best when seen in public. But which color should he be in white or black ?

Chrysler 300 Not Broke Don't Fix It

There was a interesting article in the Boston Herald about the important of design and how great the Chrysler 300C was as a blockbuster hit which has sold more than 500,000 units since 2004.
Chrysler LLC design chief Trevor Creed said the pressure is on manufacturers to come up with the next 300C, a task easier said than done in a competitive marketplace. Big hits like the 300C are a combination of design, powertrain and price, he said. "The 300C was the return of the rear-wheel-drive, all-American sedan. Bold looks at an incredibly affordable price," he said. "Pretty soon you’ve got Kia doing that and Hyundai doing that. So that’s not exclusive any more."It’s an art to come out with a car that’s cutting-edge enough but doesn’t offend buyers."
Remember that old saying if it is not broke don't fix it. It seems the message is even though the 300C is a blockbuster hit, there is need for illusion of new. Sometimes I wonder if the biggest thing corporate America could do for the environment would be, take a breath and and skip a year, the half-life of a automobile design should be longer. Remember the Thunderbird started out as a petite powerful 2 seater and eventually became a large bloated beast. That is just one example of the sad path of many a good design.

Chrysler 300 Hollywood Most Luxurious

It really does not surprise me at all that the winner of the Detroit News Readers' Choice Awards - Detroit Auto Show 2008 for the Most Luxurious was the Chrysler 300 Hollywood. I mean. we are talking about a straight up a "it's my Bone" kind of automobile for the boss Navigator. As Rudy Giuliani said when asked about what kind of car he drove he said he was "the Navigator". This auto is for the rider not the driver. I understand this is supposed to be a one off vehicle but I would really be surprised if we don't see a few of these as custom jobs. Especially out in California it's namesake.

Which Ethnic Group Prefers Chrysler 300 ?

Now for something completely different: researchers have been working hard to figure out why we buy what kinds of vehicle people are attracted to. According to a study from Strategic Vision published at "PR-inside" titled "Why Are African Americans Five Times More Likely to Purchase a Chrysler 300 Than Other Ethnic Groups? '' It's in their vehicle DNA,'' says Strategic Vision

Driver's desires, needs and attribute priorities are called the customer's vehicle DNA," according to Alexander Edwards, Strategic Vision President of Automotive. "When you understand the emotional payoff delivered by each vehicle attribute measured against the customer's vehicle DNA, you will know why an African American views the Chrysler 300 as a vehicle of choice Differences that clearly stand out with African Americans are greater desires for success and the ability to show it. African Americans are much more likely to advocate vehicles that express their individuality and success to family and friends. Latinos have a greater concern for the impact on the environment while also exhibiting a greater desire to experience exhilarating driving and performance than others. Asian Americans have stronger demands for a balanced, complete vehicle performance and style that matches their lives. read more

Chrysler 300C SRT8 Hollywood Again

Look at the luxury of this vehicle, with the "cup holder" big enough for three bottles of wine. I don't know if the following old joke is more appropate for the chauffeur driven Chrysler 300C SRT8 Hollywood made exclusively for the the ultra rich. or the 1930 version. A chauffeur was heard to relay this statement spoken to his chauffeur friend James by his employer: 'James, I'm now ninety and rather bored with life, so I want to commit suicide. Kindly drive over the next cliff.'

Very Fast 300C SRT8

This dude I know went out and bought a 2008 Chrysler 300C SRT8. It is the best and most beautiful car in the world, and it cost him $80,000 for all the modifications he had done. He takes it out for a spin and, while doing so, stops for a red light.
An old man on a moped, both looking about 90 years old, pulls up next to him. The old man looks over the sleek, shiny surface of the car and asks, "What kind of car ya got there, sonny?"

The dude replies "A 2008 Chrysler 300C SRT8. it cost $80,000."

"That's a lotta money!" says the old man, shocked. "Why does it cost so much?"

"Cause this car can do up to 170 miles an hour!" states the cool dude proudly.

The old man asks "Can I take a look inside?"

"Sure" replies the owner.

So the old man pokes his head in the window and looks around. Leaning back on his moped, the old man says "That's a pretty nice car, alright!"

Just then the light changes, so the guy decides to show the old man what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 seconds the speedometer reads 170.

Suddenly, the guy notices a dot in his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting closer! Suddenly, Whhhoooooooooossssshhhhhh! Something whips by him, going 2, maybe 3 times as fast!

The guy wonders, "What on earth could be going faster than my Chrysler 300C SRT8?" Then, ahead of him, he sees a dot coming toward him. Whooooooooooosh! Goes by again! And it almost looked like the old man on the moped! "Couldn't be," thinks the guy. How could a moped outrun a Chrysler 300C SRT8?

Again, he sees a dot in his rear view mirror!

WhoooooooshhhhhhhhKa-BbbbblaMMMMM! It plows into the back of his car, demolishing the rear end. The guy jumps out and it is the old man! Of course, the moped and the old man are hurt for certain. The guy runs up to the injured old man and asks "You're hurt bad! Is there anything I can do for you?"

The old man replies "Yeah. Unhook my suspenders from your side view mirror!"

2008 Chrysler 300CSRT8 Muscle with a Soft Side

Dan Wiese reviews of new cars and trucks appear three times a week in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. St. Louis' only full-time automotive reviewer puts you behind the wheel of the newest cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles !

Here is his review of the 2008 Chrysler 300CSRT8

Dan Wiese: The Chrysler 300C SRT8 has apparently concluded that muscle cars do not live on horsepower alone.
Of course, this luxo hot rod has always had gangsta good looks and all of the attendant hardware to make its 425 horses behave — things like a race-tuned suspension, Brembo brake calipers binding massive vented discs, a lowered ride height and electronic stability control —
but, for 2008, this performance halo of the Chrysler brand adds a host of available comfort items.
Included on a list of newly optional family-friendly goodies are
Sirius BackSeat TV,
a 322-watt Kicker premium surround sound audio system with a 100-watt subwoofer,
a remote start key-fob button
(to pre-warm things on cold mornings) and
stylish LED illumination for cupholders a
nd door-mounted map pockets.
And, as long as the SRT8 was being tweaked by interior designers,
performance engineers decided they wanted in on the action, too.
So, to enhance what already was a visceral driving experience, this luxury hot rod adds
standard Adaptive Cruise Control, which can track the car ahead and maintain a constant distance,
optional side curtain air bags and, perhaps most welcome by enthusiast drivers,
an SRT-exclusive reconfigurable instrument panel display that can track performance data like zero-to-60 times,
braking distances and cornering g-forces.
To read the rest of the 300c review
I agree,Chrysler has created a real "comfort" machine inside all that muscle.

A 300C Super-Stretch Land Yacht

Now this is a one half million dollar [modified in Great Britain] land Yacht. Apparently the first of a fleet to come to Singapore.
"IT IS so long that the driver arrives a couple of seconds before the passengers.
Presenting the Chrysler 300, Singapore's longest passenger car, which measures a tad over 8 meters - or nearly 2m longer than the previous record holder, the Maybach 62.
In fact, its wheelbase alone is almost as long as the Maybach.
Restaurant and hospitality group Indochina's chief executive Michael Ma has acquired the car to rent to people who must arrive in style.
It will accommodate eight in the rear, where passengers can help themselves to a mini bar or watch movies on the plasma TV system." via straitstimes.com

Pre-owned Chrysler 300C popular Auto

As we get further away from 2005, there are more'preowned' Chrysler 300 or 300C. As buyers trade in for new models. The good thing is the resale value is good. Driving through a small town the other day to do some business with the city. I noticed the part time lady maintenance worker at the local city hall is driving a 2005 Chrysler 300, she had bought second hand with low milage. Which was cool . Then she tells me the little old 84 year old mother of the lady that owns the pizza place also has a 2005 Chrysler 300. That one was silver plus the town banker had one. They are buying the style, comfort and class , not the speed. Which is just fine. I thought that was pretty cool for a town of 550.

I meant to post about this before on the general health of Chrysler from inar.de/en/business/ "Chrysler has achieved record sales outside North America in 2007 (238,218 units), outselling any previous year in the Company's history. This was an increase of 15 percent compared with total year sales in 2006, and set another record for the company with more than two and a half years of consecutive month-over-month sales growth. "On behalf of our leadership team, I would like to extend my personal thanks and appreciation to Chrysler's International network for a very strong 2007," Bob Nardelli, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said. Chrysler 300C Touring Favorite 2 years in a Row

As one reads Mike Rutherford's column at the autoexpressnews . His picks for favorite cars of 2007 his choice for the second year in a row for estate car is the diesel Chrysler 300C Touring. He says there are more expensive ‘Rival’ cars that are superior on paper but cost six figure sums are irrelevant to all but a minuscule band of motorists. He says his choices are for the 'real world' therefore he made a good choice with the Chrysler 300C.

No you can't borrow the 300C

The lesson here is don't let your kid take the 300C out for a drive. From a video post over at streetfire.net by I am guessing a young man who managed to acquire his fathers 300C and take it for a ride "The 300C was actually surprisingly fast for such a big and heavy car!!! Took a speedo shot. Was on and off the thottle. Raise the volume so you can hear when i'm on it. Got it up to 105MPH but then let off anything faster than that is stupid!!" Glad he thought it would be stupid to go any faster, it looks like a lot of traffic around.
