James Brown Chrysler 300

A fanatically maintained black 2005 Chrysler 300 that was owned by James Brown Enterprises is on sale on ebay. The odometer showing only 6,230 original miles. The only thing special about the car is that it is two years old with super low milage. Unless you count the ownership history of James Brown ! Ranking right up there with Elvis and the Beatles. They say "One can imagine James Brown cruising through the back roads of beautiful Beech Island, SC, away from the crazy life that any celebrity must have, enjoying this great car, with the Air Conditioning going, and the music blasting! Or, maybe James Brown was an all windows down man. Either way, you could not own anything of Mr. Brown's that would give you a greater sense and appreciation of his personal life, than the car he last chose and drove and enjoyed, when he was enjoying life just like any other guy out for a ride in his car on a nice summer day. This car belongs with someone who not only appreciates Mr. Brown's lfe's work, but appreciates the man that he was." How cool is that?

They handle and ride well, even with all the extra punch of the Hemi V8, it sure is fast-fun. There’s a police edition for well financed jurisdictions.or policeman

Red Hot looking 300c heritage edition

Yieks , this is one Red Hot looking 300c heritage edition, over at 300cforums just floating above the pavement on 24 inch rims

I can't imagine driving this on our country roads considering how poor the maintenance is on them. It is one hot looking machine. The rims are really unique with the dagger looking rims.

The Sinister jet black Chrysler 300C

David Cronenberg's film, A History of Violence was a story of an ordinary man living peaceful in a rural area of America who developed a fiercer version of himself after the robbery of his cafĂ©. The movie’s got a lot of twist but without the mighty presence of the Chrysler 300C, it would not fit your criteria to be a great movie. Specially made for the movie to play the sinister vehicle, the jet black Chrysler 300C has chrome trim, darkened slit windows, gaping, barking-shark grille and low-rider stance. The evil Chrysler 300C was featured in the scene where the goons lead by Ed Harris went to the house of Viggo Mortensen to threaten his family.

1957 Chrysler 300C for Christmas

There is still time for Santa to add a 1957 CHRYSLER 300C on to my list. After all According Old Cars Price Guide they are only worth between $26,000-$81,900 depending on it's shape of course. The convertible is worth more But both have the unique styling and a 375-390-horsepower "Hemi" V-8, excellent handling and a luxurious interior. It was America's most powerful car at the time. Yes that would be a sweet ride. Might be hard to find as only 1,918 300C's were made in 1957.

CAFE Standards to Improve 300C Aerodynamics

It looks like congress is going to raise the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards to 35 mpg. In response auto makers are trying to come up with ways to attain it. At it's reported that.
At Chrysler, insiders say the company is studying how best to redesign the big Chrysler 300 sedan, with one proposal said to involve a move away from the current upright, boxy silhouette to a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile in order to enhance fuel economy.
I think that changing the shape of the 300C for "aerodynamic" reasons of fuel economy is at the most, shall I say dubious. I mean unless one is traveling at high speeds, are the aerodymamics involved that subtle ? A better way to improve fuel economy would be for people to not floor the gas petal.

There was a post on the 300cforums with a invitation to anyone in Anyone in the Yokosuka Area in Japan that has a 300C that can read or speak Japanese so we can tag along and do a M&G with the Japanese 300C owners, they meet the 2nd SAT of each month but the location changes every month. 19 year old wins Chrysler 300C

A Darwin, Australian 19-year-old Bonnie Wyatt has had her dreams come true after winning a Chrysler 300C in Darwin today after winning the car in a nationwide competition.
As stories like this seem to go she had purchased some CDs and DVDs from the WOW Sight and Sound Darwin store but at first passed up the opportunity to fill out an entry form for the WOW Sight and Sound/WPS Win a Chrysler competition. The store security guard noticed this and encouraged Wyatt to enter because of the significant prize involved, prompting the teenager to fill out an entry that changed her life and made her the envy of her friends. Maybe he'll get a ride in the 300C. more

Refined Chrysler 300C

This Chrysler 300C is a beautiful rendition of a soon to be classic ! The subtle way Santini USA Paint & Body detailed this automobile is fantastic. One gets a feeling of nobility and refinement from this automobile. I am not normally a fan of two-tone paint jobs but this is a major exception. The wide old style whitewalls are a great idea. On motorcycles they are considered 'gangster tires' here they add to the refining qualities. One just knows that a powerful hemi is lurking under the hood just waiting to explode.

Winning 300C Wheels

Isn't this a juicy looking 300C. I see a low and hard rifle grey fitted with a sense of no nonsense HRE Performance Wheels this auto looks like it is ready to be shot down the road.
I understand HRE Performance Wheels were on two Best Design Award-Winning cars at SEMA this year. One awarded the Chrysler Design Award for Best Chrysler . The winning automobile was a Santini USA Paint & Body creation. A 2008 Chrysler 300C in all satin black with satin-brushed aluminum chrome trim. The car featured 22" 945R HRE Performance Wheels with a flat black finish on the spokes and a brushed aluminum on the outside lip.

300C Love It or Hate It

We have heard this before about the Chrysler 300C.
From timesonline Love it or hate it, you cannot ignore it. Launched in Britain in October 2005, the Chrysler 300C looks as though it has driven straight out of The Sopranos with a body in the boot as standard.
It follows in a long line of American saloon cars that had tried, and failed, to crack the European market, and for many critics this latest attempt was likely to stand no better chance than its predecessors. Furthermore, they predicted, its residual values would be so poor that new car sales would all but dry up.
Two years on, however, and not only are new 300Cs still commanding list price but used examples are holding their value better than Mercedes, BMWs and Audis. The Chrysler 300C looks as though it’s the American saloon that finally won in the UK market.

How Much Does That 300C In The Window Cost

The title is a attempt at humor a play on a old song, How Much Is That Doggy in the Window. Anyway a interesting conversation going on over at 300cforumz on the relative cost of a 300C SRT8 depending on which country you buy it in. They say a Chrysler 300c SRT8 in the Netherlands cost is $124.000, in Canada it's MSRP $52,695 and here in the US it's $41,585. Guess you are better buying it here even with the exchange rates right now.

From the UK we learn that residual value experts have confirmed that the 300C has been a massive residual value success story. Martin Ward, Manufacturer Relationship Manager for CAP, said: “A two year old diesel Chrysler 300C with 30,000 miles on the clock is today worth an impressive 67 per cent of the £25,750 it cost when new. In contrast, a BMW 525D of a similar age that cost £31,115 in 2005 is currently worth £19,300 – that’s 62 per cent retained value.Martin Ward added: “It has been a big surprise to the industry just how well the 300C has sold in the UK, and more importantly how well it has held on to its value. All previous large American designed and built cars have not performed anywhere near as well. The 300C styling has hit the spot with both new and used customers and even two years after its launch it is still attracting attention. The bold design is set to appeal to used car buyers for some years to come.” I could have told you that.

Chrysler 300C+Headers+Nitrous

Does this sound like you ?
Your Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum or Dodge Charger must be even more powerful than it is.

Quick History of the Hemi

It is always kind of neat to see the refinement of of a technology in this case the hemi as it moved from fighter aircraft engine to a fuel saving big v-8.
1939 Chrysler begins design work on first HEMI®, a V-16 for fighter aircraft.
There will be nearly one million vehicles on the road equipped with Chrysler Group’s MDS.
With the addition of MDS to HEMI-equipped Dodge Durango and Ram, MDS-equipped vehicles through the end of the 2007 model year will save more than 60 million gallons of fuel each year.
To see everything in between there is a cool post over at the 300CForums

Dodge Magnum On Chopping Block

Chrysler LLC, fresh off of the recent ratification of its labor contract with the UAW, has announced cuts to its hourly and salaried workforce, along with the official announcement of the elimination of a number of models from its lineup. Maybe if there were no lime green Dodge Magums the pruning wouldn't have included the Dodge Magnum. Well I guess not,as this one is pretty cool. So as said "Let the bloodletting begin". The 300C at least is not on the block.

300C With Very Unique Wheels

What we have here according is an experiment with a Chrysler 300C that has LED wheels each one containing its own color display.A little more information on this from YahooNews: Bryan Davis, president of Led Wheels has his way, pedestrians and fellow motorists will soon be able to watch televisions mounted inside the wheel rims of other cars driving by.
"We basically reinvented the wheel," said Davis, who envisages his company's invention catching on with taxi and public transport companies wanting to attract advertisers as well as private consumers keen to go to ever greater lengths to distinguish their cars. Chrysler 300C Foglights

Fog lights are a good idea on any auto but there are fog lights and then FOG lights that can help you see your Chrysler 300c's way safely down the path of a dark foggy and hostile highway. Good fog lights will allow you that little extra vision of what is in front of you. Especially when you are on the windy country roads where critters large and small are always darting across. Don't swerve into the ditch for the chipmunks though. Stealth Auto has a 300c foglight kit for you. They have a deal and a how to install with plenty of pics over at the 300c Forums. Chrysler 300C Dream

Need a break at work ? Try this.
Close your eyes and imagine it’s a dark night, first you see the outline of a custom Chrysler 300C. you become aware of the night sky, with a full moon and a blanket of stars. Next you notice the firm earth under you as the drivers door opens.
The 300C begins to take you on a drive through nature, you ride the 300C through a forest, aware that no obstacles are in your way. You are following your hearts desire and allowing the car to help you find the correct, balanced path. As you sway with the motion of the motor , you feel the 300C's roar as your heart merges with the feeling of the car and the engine naturally begins to open up.
The terrain grows steeper as you move up a mountain toward the stars, the path becomes more rigorous and narrow. By the time you have reached the top of the mountain, you are driving full throttle. You’ve merged with the 300C and become one.
From your new vantage point on the peak of the mountain, feel the first ray of sunlight appear. Allow yourself to experience the full impact and intensity of the sunlight as it penetrates your soul during the time it takes for the sun to rise.
As the horizon opens out before you, take 5 deep breaths. Throw your head back with each inhale through your nose and blow out the breath from your mouth as you bring you head forward at the end of the 5th breath. Relax back on your chair with you final exhale, begin to float and allow whatever will to happen. Allow your vision to carry you into the future, a new 2008 Chrysler 300C maybe . Explore. Look beyond your expectations, stay as long as you are comfortable.

Chrysler 300C Uses

If I were a moonshine runner I think I would use a big hemi powered Chrysler 300C. Other than the good ride it's big enough to carry the extra weight. Some moonshiners in years gone by in the Appalachian foothills of North Carolina were known to use Chrysler New Yorkers also Dodge Coronet 440's with 426 Hemi's. Now I am sure there is more money in raising chickens that running moonshine these days. via hotrod magazine.

Chrysler 300 Limo Crash Test

It is always interesting when to see one of these auto crash tests especially of a Chrysler 300C or in this case a 300 limo. With the size of this car It just reinforces my belief that larger cars are safer. At least for the person driving. I would hate to be hit by one. When I think of when I have been in a limo, seat belts were the last thing on my mind, It was always a party situation.

Slight 2008 Chrysler 300C Changes

The only noticeable changes in the exterior of the 2008 Chrysler 300C is the front appears to have a relocated badge and the rear receiving a revised deck lid and taillights. Now you do have a choice of three new colors for 2008 — Clearwater Blue Pearl Coat, Dark Titanium Metallic Clear Coat and Light Sandstone Metallic Clear Coat.

Do you suppose this is the kind of modification Mr. Giles was thinking about. For some reason it makes me almost nostalgic for my all time favorite, a 1949 chopped, sectioned, lowered Mercury.

300C To Be A Classic

Back in a July post I referred to the 300C as having a classic shape. I was reading the other day in The Wall Street Journal and some other places that other folks have the same feeling about the Chrysler 300C as having a classic shape. Nice that other folks have a similar opinion. Chrysler 3o0c designer Ralph Gilles thinks it will become a classic in "modified form."

The Next 300C ?

The seems to be a lot of guessing the Chrysler Nassau concept car could be the new look of the 300C. There are to many similarities to ignore. To quote "Whilst obviously nothing is confirmed, if the Nassau is overwhelmed with positive feedback it is more than likely you could see something very similar baring the 300C badging."
Pretty slick looking machine.

300C With Split Hood

This is pretty wild. It's amazing some of the modifications people keep coming up with on a 300C. Would be one way to help keep the hemi cooler when waiting in bumper to bumper traffic. Definitely an attention getter.

Very nice.

$10,000 Speeding Fine

I found this little Hot Wheels beauty on Flickr.
This would be the only 300C I'd be speeding in, up in Ontario, Canada . Not with their new $10,000 Canadian fine of up to 6 months in jail and no appeal, for going 31 MPH over the speed limit. Ouch ! From The Newspaper

300C Meets Police

Driving down a quiet country road on a summer day the 300c decided to pull my foot down on the accelerator. I was going a little over 110 when I slowed down to stop for a crossroads stop sign. I realized a county police car coming from the opposite direction. I stopped at the intersection,of course, turned and slowly kept driving. Sure enough the police also turned in behind me and hit the lights.
Having watched enough cop shows. Hands on the wheel, car off, and yes sir, no sir, seemed to be the order of the day. The dialogue went something like this.
policeman: why were you going so fast with the hemi.
driver: uh, sorry sir, I was on a errand for my wife and I was preoccupied.
policeman: Well, if you promise to slow this hemi down I'll let you go.
driver: Thank you sir, I will I said with a smile.
policeman: As he left, he turned and said, "maybe you should get a slant 6"
driver: Not likely I said as we parted ways.
-and that's the truth- moral- be polite and some policemen will give you a break-

The New Chrysler Company

They are also going to resurrect, according to Chrysler spokesperson Mike Aberlich an updated version of the "Pentamark" the old trademark. Some folks don't think that is a good idea. more

Although rumors abound that Bernhard will become Chrysler CEO, the company has not said what his role or official title will be at the newly unfettered company.

He is also quoted as saying "Buyers of the 300C spend about $12,000 dressing up their cars. "

Heritage Edition 300C

Over at the 300c forum is a post about a 2007 Heritage Edition 300C at a dealership. With It's nod to the original 300C light turquoise trim.
If the exterior looked like one of the 1957 variety. It would look really cool, with a red exterior I'm not so sure it would work for me.
