300C & Captain America

BIG BAM-SPLam the hammer came down.Even if Fiat is the new owner of most of the assets of Chrysler, the company that was given the privilege to build the 300C. What about the 300C ? It said the new company will focus on small cars. Well, if you reduce the 300C, it will look ridiculous.
Besides with Captain America soon to be reborn I think they should come around to right thinking with some of their thoughts on this, you do not agree? As far as I am concerned that Captain America must drive a 300C ! Therefor they must make more of them for him.
Don't believe he is returning ? Watch the skies July 2009.

The Hammer Has Gone Down on Chrysler

BIG BAM the hammer went down. Fiat is the new owner of most of Chrysler's assets, they closed the deal, probably over a eggs & ham breakfast. It's said the new company will focus on smaller vehicles, areas in which Chrysler was weak. Well if the shrink the 300C it will look funny I think. They must correct some of their thinking on this, don't you agree ?

Sale of Chrysler On Hold

Hang on to your passports, the US Supreme Court is delaying the sale of Chrysler to the Fiat group. However, three Indiana state pension and construction funds say no way and pursued halting of the sale.
Fiat would control 20% of Chrysler, while 68% would be owned by a union trust, and the two governments would share 12%.
However, the pension funds, which hold about $42m (£26.3m) of Chrysler's $6.9bn in secured loans, are opposed to the sale. via all the news

I wold expect that the Chrysler 300C will become more popular than ever.

Fewer 300C Opportunities

My God it gets worse every day, since yesterday the number of fewer 300C opportunities has risen to 1,100. In the sense that there will be fewer dealers out there to sell you a used 300C.
via (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors notified 1,100 of its 6,000 dealerships Friday that it is terminating their contracts with the struggling automaker, the first step in an even deeper 40% cut in its retail network.

GM spokeswoman Susan Garontakos said that the dealers receiving notice Friday are being told that their contracts will not be renewed in October 2010. Many of them are expected to close shop this year.

789 Fewer Places to Buy a 300C

via (CNNMoney.com) -- Chrysler LLC will close down 789 dealerships, or roughly 25% of the current number, according to a plan filed in bankruptcy court Thursday.

Chrysler had a total of 3,181 authorized dealers in operation at the time of its April 30 bankruptcy court filing, according to court filings. Just over half of that number accounted for more than 90% of Chrysler sales, according to the filing.

The dealers being shut down represent 14% of Chrysler's total sales, the carmaker said.

Are 300C's in the Stimulus Bill ?

Never having asked the question of anyone I can't say that according to the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the question was even asked.
With that being said, in a list of some of the highlights of the new economic stimulus legislation. Not once did I read anything about the 300C.

I just don't understand why not. They put in ENERGY What has more energy than a 300C I ask ?

•Should have been $30 billion for advanced battery technology, and energy efficiency measures, that could have been used for new Chrysler 300C batteries.

• Should have been $20 billion in tax incentives for renewable rear tires that have been smoked off and energy efficiency in the stereo system over the next 10 years.

•Should have been A three-year extension of the production tax credit for electricity derived from wind produced by a high speed after all a300C can provide a lot of wind when it goes flying by.

• Should have been Grants of up to 30% of the cost of building a new renewable energy facility to build new 300C.

• Should have been Tax credits for families that purchase Chrysler 300C vehicles of up to $7,500. Depending on the extras.

• Should have been renewable bonds for state and local governments that buy 300Cs.

• Should have been $5 billion to improve the energy efficiency of more than 1 million garages.

• Should have been $29 billion for modernizing roads and bridges. States must obligate at least half of the funding within 120 days.

Chrysler Australia Retiring the 300C

Oh woe is us, it's starting down under. "Chrysler Australia has announced today that it will no longer be providing the official Safety and Course Car for the V8 Supercar Championship Series. The announcement follows four years of Chrysler Safety Cars leading the pack in the premier Australian motor racing series." more

Peeing in a 300C

Normally one wouldn't think of peeing in the gas tank of a 300C but now a company called LS9. Is developing genetically altered bugs that will pee crude oil. A representative of the company recently said "He gives it a month before the first vehicle could be a Chrysler 300C is filled up on what they call “renewable petroleum. After that, it’s a brave new world”. The bugs feed on agricultural waste such as woodchips or wheat straw, they excrete, piss, poop crude oil. Thus creating burnable fuel for 300C and others. They say that if LS9 used Brazilian sugar cane as its feedstock, its fuel would probably cost about $50 a barrel. Some how burning poop in a 300C just doesn't sound right. more

Severance Chrysler 300C

Some words of advice to companies downsizing in this grizzly bear market. When a employee is downsized it is stressful for everyone involved. Not the least is the Chrysler auto detailer for 300C. Not happening over night tension can build up over time especially when not all models of the 300C are available. When employees are downsized or terminated it just makes sense that they are given their choice of color of their Chrysler 300, if they are foreman or office workers they usually get a 300C and middle management a 300C SRT8. Senior management of course will not only receive his and her models but use of a driver for the first year until they find their own chauffeur.

Chrysler 300C Hybrid in Future ?

I know the photo isn't a hybrid 300C but it could be. I saw a list recently of the top 10 cars that, if they were sold with an hybrid option their companies will have a benefit. They had the Chrysler 300C on that list. If the 300C sold with an hybrid option their image would not be affected in a negative way.. I think it would be a good thing for Chrysler. The hybrid could very be a legitimate power adder like turbo or supercharging. Think about it, if it were possible to add 100hp to a 400hp v8 with an electric motor that could only improve a cars image. Of course the battery technology has to come a lot further so that weight can be kept down, but power is power. I would take a future hybrid Chrysler 300C if it were able to outrun the current Chrysler 300C.

Smaller More Profitable Chrysler LLC

The old style Chrysler logo was seen on the back of a 300C during the Chicago Auto Show, sounds like Chrysler LLC wants to find more gold like on their old style logo. by cutting its product lineup by around a half and dramatically shrink its dealership network so it can sell its three brands under one roof, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the plan. via boston.com That is going to eliminate a lot of small dealers, more people looking for work.

I have been trying to update the labels on previous posts,so one can find I am trying to be accurate it takes time

300C Sincere Flattery

For years my wife has complained that all cars coming out of Detroit looked the same. Whether it was Chrysler or someone else it seems As automakers came closer on quality, safety and technology, the only thing left to distinguish them is the way their cars and trucks look, both inside and out. The Chrysler 300C was one of the rare automobiles in recent years where design was elevated from an afterthought to a prime consideration. The saying imitation is the most sincere form of flattery and to me that shows up in the concept auto Scion Fuse. A miniature at that. It has been said "What would happen if a Japanese carmaker built an interpretation of the classic 1949 Mercury lead-sled hot rod? The Scion Fuse concept, that's what. The Fuse's low stance, chopped roofline, and sinister expression make it a pretty arresting car to behold, even with its Chrysler 300-style vertical taillights." There is more than just the Chrysler 300C taillights that are simular

Guess which is the Chrysler 300C the scionfuse the 1949 Mercury

Keeping Your 300C for the Long Haul

Owning a automobile has always been much more than just having a reliable car that gets us places, we place a lot of focus and energy in making sure we have a stylish car like a Chrysler 300C that will impress our friends, family members, and are downright sexy. Cars tend to depreciate very fast right away and then hold their value for the most part after that. During the first three years of ownership, a typical car will lose 50% of its value. However there are exceptions to this rule of thumb. For instance a two year old diesel Chrysler 300C with 30,000 miles on the clock is today worth an impressive 67 per cent of it's cost when new in the United Kingdom. Most cars however tend to depreciate very fast right away and then hold their value for the most part after that. During the first three years of ownership, a typical car will lose 50% of its value. If buying the right car and keeping it for 15 years could save you tens of thousands of dollars. When you keep a vehicle for a long period of time, you’re going to see depreciation, but it won’t be nearly the rate if you were to keep buying newer cars, trading them in, and then letting them depreciate, also by buying the 'right' car in the first place you should be happier with it for a longer period of time. What if rumors are true and in a year or so they quite making a 300C ?
For practical folks, Consumer Reports actually did a study on how much you can save by keeping a vehicle for a long period of time and they found that owners who buy a new car and keep it for 15 years or 225,000 miles of driving will save you on average $31,000 versus trading your vehicle in every few years. There are a number of other benefits to keeping a car for a long period of time. You don’t have to worry about the hassle of buying a newer car and making sure that you’re getting a good deal and not buying a lemon. You don’t have to worry about trying to sell your older car, and you know the exact vehicle history of the car that you’re driving.
Buying a car like a 300C and keeping it for a decade and a half just makes sense financially.

Chrysler 300 Not Broke Don't Fix It

There was a interesting article in the Boston Herald about the important of design and how great the Chrysler 300C was as a blockbuster hit which has sold more than 500,000 units since 2004.
Chrysler LLC design chief Trevor Creed said the pressure is on manufacturers to come up with the next 300C, a task easier said than done in a competitive marketplace. Big hits like the 300C are a combination of design, powertrain and price, he said. "The 300C was the return of the rear-wheel-drive, all-American sedan. Bold looks at an incredibly affordable price," he said. "Pretty soon you’ve got Kia doing that and Hyundai doing that. So that’s not exclusive any more."It’s an art to come out with a car that’s cutting-edge enough but doesn’t offend buyers."
Remember that old saying if it is not broke don't fix it. It seems the message is even though the 300C is a blockbuster hit, there is need for illusion of new. Sometimes I wonder if the biggest thing corporate America could do for the environment would be, take a breath and and skip a year, the half-life of a automobile design should be longer. Remember the Thunderbird started out as a petite powerful 2 seater and eventually became a large bloated beast. That is just one example of the sad path of many a good design.

Chrysler Hemi Hybrid

Chrysler has stepped into the hybrid world at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show with the unveiling of the 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid and the 2009 Dodge Durango Hemi Hybrid. The two are the Detroit automaker's first entries in the hybrid market and will hit showrooms in mid-2008. No word if they will be messing with a 300C with a Hemi Hybrid, I hope not. more

300C To Be A Classic

Back in a July post I referred to the 300C as having a classic shape. I was reading the other day in The Wall Street Journal and some other places that other folks have the same feeling about the Chrysler 300C as having a classic shape. Nice that other folks have a similar opinion. Chrysler 3o0c designer Ralph Gilles thinks it will become a classic in "modified form."
