The convertible is worth more But both have the unique styling and a 375-390-horsepower "Hemi" V-8, excellent handling and a luxurious interior. It was America's most powerful car at the time. Yes that would be a sweet ride. Might be hard to find as only 1,918 300C's were made in 1957.

CAFE Standards to Improve 300C Aerodynamics

It looks like congress is going to raise the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards to 35 mpg. In response auto makers are trying to come up with ways to attain it. At Edmunds.com it's reported that.
At Chrysler, insiders say the company is studying how best to redesign the big Chrysler 300 sedan, with one proposal said to involve a move away from the current upright, boxy silhouette to a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile in order to enhance fuel economy.
I think that changing the shape of the 300C for "aerodynamic" reasons of fuel economy is at the most,shall I say dubious. I mean unless one is traveling at high speeds, are the aerodymamics involved that subtle ? A better way to improve fuel economy would be for people to not floor the gas petal.

There was a post on the 300cforums with a invitation to anyone in Anyone in the Yokosuka Area in Japan that has a 300C that can read or speak Japanese so we can tag along and do a M&G with the Japanese 300C owners, they meet the 2nd SAT of each month but the location changes every month. You'd have to check out the forum for more info.

A Darwin, Australian 19-year-old Bonnie Wyatt has had her dreams come true after winning a Chrysler 300C in Darwin today after winning the car in a nationwide competition.
As stories like this seem to go she had purchased some CDs and DVDs from the WOW Sight and Sound Darwin store but at first passed up the opportunity to fill out an entry form for the WOW Sight and Sound/WPS Win a Chrysler competition. Martin Ward, Manufacturer Relationship Manager for CAP, said: “A two year old diesel Chrysler 300C with 30,000 miles on the clock is today worth an impressive 67 per cent of the £25,750 it cost when new. In contrast, a BMW 525D of a similar age that cost £31,115 in 2005 is currently worth £19,300 – that’s 62 per cent retained value.Martin Ward added: “It has been a big surprise to the industry just how well the 300C has sold in the UK, and more importantly how well it has held on to its value. Chrysler LLC, fresh off of the recent ratification of its labor contract with the UAW, has announced cuts to its hourly and salaried workforce, along with the official announcement of the elimination of a number of models from its lineup. Maybe if there were no lime green Dodge Magums the pruning wouldn't have included the Dodge Magnum. Well I guess not,as this one is pretty cool. It is always interesting when to see one of these auto crash tests especially of a Chrysler 300C or in this case a 300 limo. With the size of this car It just reinforces my belief that larger cars are safer. At least for the person driving. I would hate to be hit by one. The only noticeable changes in the exterior of the 2008 Chrysler 300C is the front appears to have a relocated badge and the rear receiving a revised deck lid and taillights. This doesn't bother me at all, I hope they don't mess with a great design. Back in a July post I referred to the 300C as having a classic shape. I was reading the other day in The Wall Street Journal and some other places that other folks have the same feeling about the Chrysler 300C as having a classic shape. Nice that other folks have a similar opinion. Chrysler 3o0c designer Ralph Gilles thinks it will become a classic in "modified form."

The seems to be a lot of guessing the Chrysler Nassau concept car could be the new look of the 300C. There are to many similarities to ignore. To quote caradvice.com "Whilst obviously nothing is confirmed, if the Nassau is overwhelmed with positive feedback it is more than likely you could see something very similar baring the 300C badging."

300C With Split Hood

This is pretty wild. It's amazing some of the modifications people keep coming up with on a 300C. Would be one way to help keep the hemi cooler when waiting in bumper to bumper traffic. Definitely an attention getter.

2006 Chrysler 300 C Convertible

I don't see a lot of Chrysler 300C Convertibles like this out there. If you are looking for a convertible I came across this 2006 300 C for sale over at dupontregistry I 'd be careful if you check it out because you could ruin your keyboard when reading the details on it and start drooling on the keyboard. Very nice.

$10,000 Speeding Fine

I found this little Hot Wheels beauty on Flickr.
This would be the only 300C I'd be speeding in, up in Ontario, Canada . Not with their new $10,000 Canadian fine of up to 6 months in jail and no appeal, for going 31 MPH over the speed limit. Ouch ! From The Newspaper

300C Meets Police

Driving down a quiet country road on a summer day the 300c decided to pull my foot down on the accelerator. I was going a little over 110 when I slowed down to stop for a crossroads stop sign. I realized a county police car coming from the opposite direction. I stopped at the intersection,of course, turned and slowly kept driving. Sure enough the police also turned in behind me and hit the lights.
Having watched enough cop shows. Hands on the wheel, car off, and yes sir, no sir, seemed to be the order of the day. The dialogue went something like this.
policeman: why were you going so fast with the hemi.
driver: uh, sorry sir, I was on a errand for my wife and I was preoccupied.
policeman: Well, if you promise to slow this hemi down I'll let you go.
driver: Thank you sir, I will I said with a smile.
policeman: As he left, he turned and said, "maybe you should get a slant 6"
driver: Not likely I said as we parted ways.
-and that's the truth- moral- be polite and some policemen will give you a break-

The New Chrysler Company

The name DaimlerChrysler will be no more, the new company will be called Chrysler, LLC.
They are also going to resurrect, according to Chrysler spokesperson Mike Aberlich an updated version of the "Pentamark" the old trademark. Some folks don't think that is a good idea. more
Former Chrysler Group COO Wolfgang Bernhard, who is credited with having helped Chrysler roll out products like the 300C sedan in 2003, is now a senior advisor at Cerberus. Although rumors abound that Bernhard will become Chrysler CEO, the company has not said what his role or official title will be at the newly unfettered company.

Another Phantom Grille On A 300C

Chrysler 300C 'E490'

Coming later this year to a dealer not near me,  a limited-edition version of the Chrysler 300C 'E490' show car is to be in showrooms.   According to an article by Neil McDonald over at carsguide  It says, Chrysler Group Australia-Pacific, managing director Gerry Jenkins, expects a more modest version of the E490 concept to slip into the range below the 6.1-litre SRT8. He is also quoted as saying "Buyers of the 300C spend about $12,000 dressing up their cars. "

Heritage Edition 300C

Over at the 300c forum is a post about a 2007 Heritage Edition 300C at a dealership. With It's nod to the original 300C light turquoise trim.

If the exterior looked like one of the 1957 variety. It would look really cool, with a red exterior I'm not so sure it would work for me.
