2009 Challenger R/T & SE

I'll never get over it , 2008 is barely startedDodge presented the 2009 Challenger R/T and SE at the New York Auto Show. It's not a 300C but. Now that the big boy 425-horsepower Challenger SRT8 about to be on the street, now we get to see what most of us could afford. It's not that they are shabby in the least. The Challenger R/T is powered by the company's 5.7-liter HEMI V8, but revisions to the engine result in an output of 370 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. According to Chrysler, the new-generation engine's fuel consumption will improve by 5 percent.
The really good news to me is, 6-speed manual will be available with the 5.7 Hemi, which will be tuned to produce 375 horses and 404 lb-ft of torque. The R/T will be equipped with standard 18-inch wheels, and 20-inch wheels will be available. With the manual, the car is said to reach 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in under 6 seconds. Even the mighty SRT8 doesn't get the manual transmission.

The Challenger SE will be the base model, and will receive the 3.5-liter V6 that develops 250 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The 6-cylinder engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic. It will get you there with the look but not the power.
